Piers and Keme Go Walking

A glorious spring day! We set off from the Hide and headed straight for coffee at the Amberley church community café and shop, with brief pause there outside in the sun.

Then we proceeded to walk through Amberley Woods, dropping down and crossing the valley. We went through Woodchester onto Selsley Common, and from the common we followed the ridge all the way to the top of Woodchester Valley.

We descended the valley and stopped at Woodchester mansion where Friday, Saturday and Sunday you can get coffee from Henry’s café. We paused to have our packed lunch, then we set off down past the lakes.

We finally ended up by crossing the valley and coming up through Dunkirk Mill, across the fields back to the Hyde.

12 1/2 miles in total with varied terrain, including beautiful beach woods full of garlic flowers, common land, hills, valleys, and Lakeside  paths. We left at 9am and got back 3.30pm, with 4.5 hours of walking.
